They were about an hour away from Dallas when Victoria looked over at Shelby. “Are you having fun?”

Shelby chuckled. “Yeah I am. This thing is easy to drive.”

“I told you it was. I don’t know why you didn’t drive it sooner.”

“Were you really tired?” Shelby quickly looked over at her.

“A little. We haven’t slept much!”

“We did last night. Are you complaining?”

“No!” Victoria exclaimed then laughed.

“That’s what I thought. You can sleep while I’m at work.”

“I still have work, too. When do you want to tell our families?”

“Hmm.” Shelby exhaled loudly. “I guess we could go see our parents and tell them tomorrow.”

“Do you know what I’d really like to do when we get home?” Victoria sighed.

“Tell me. I’ll make it happen.”

“Listen to my wife.” Victoria chuckled. “I’d like to go swimming. That’s one thing I missed on our honeymoon.”

“How about we call Marina and Dru? We can tell them our news and swim in their pool.”

“That’s a great idea.” Victoria got her phone out and pulled up Marina’s number. She connected the call and waited.

“If it isn’t my long lost friends,” Marina said, answering the phone.

“We’re not lost,” Victoria said.

“We’re almost home,” Shelby added.

“Oh good! You’re still together. I was afraid Victoria would leave you on that mountain, Shelby.”

They both laughed.

“Do we have a story to tell you,” Shelby said, winking at Victoria.

“Come over and tell me! Dru and I are waiting!”

“Please come over,” Dru begged in the background. “I don’t think she can wait another day.”

“My, oops—” Shelby covered her mouth. “Victoria wants to swim.”

“What?” Marina said. “I couldn’t hear you.”

Victoria spoke up. “I’m feeling like a swim. You have a pool. We’ll be there in an hour.”

Marina screamed on the other end. “Yes! I want to hear about everything.”

“See you soon.” Victoria ended the call.

“I almost told her our surprise,” Shelby said. “I like calling you my wife.”

“I’ve kind of noticed.” Victoria chuckled. “Just so you know, I love hearing it.”
